The Hayloft is situated in the outskirts of Larne in County Antrim overlooking the Inver river valley with Shane's Hill for a backdrop, You will find a warm welcome from our family run business. We offer first class self-catering accommodation, with off road secure parking. You can enjoy the quietness of the countryside while taking the in fresh air and admiring the views. The site consists of a group of old buildings, the oldest building was a old homestead around the 1700’s, the hayloft part of this building was used for a restaurant, hence our name. There are three other houses which in the past would probably housed up to five families who would probably have worked for the wealthy landowner whose house (now mainly rubble) was situated off the incoming lane. The other outbuildings are, the carriage house (now the laundry room and small workshop), the old mill (now accommodates the two bedroom apartment), and another large stone building which will be developed if I get bored with my retirement. A group of such dwellings in Ireland would have such as this would have been known as a clacha.
